The trucks, who left California in a convoy on February 23 to protest the Kovid-19 limitations and vaccine requirement in the United States, did not enter Washington, DC, instead of touring the roadway around it.
About 250 truckers who left Ohio in the morning on Friday and arrived in the evening in Hagerstown, which is about an hour away from the capital Washington, DC, began to wait, slowing traffic by doing two circuits around the city on the “Beltway” highway.
The truckers against the Covid-19 vaccine, who traveled for 11 days and 4000 kilometers under the banner of the People’s Convoy, were due to complete their journey in the capital, stopping the main and ring roads to traffic and protesting the need for vaccination.
The anti-vaccine truckers, who returned to Hagerstown after two trips on the Beltway, appeared to have differing opinions on entering Washington, DC, as seen by their social media posts.
There was no word on what kind of action plan the truckers will take over the week or when their protests would conclude.
Approximately 400 Washington DC National Guard members were sent to help the Washington DC police in particular traffic locations, according to a published statement from the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) on February 23.
It was also announced that roughly 300 National Guardsmen from the bordering states of Washington DC will assist the Congress Police with their security measures.
