According to the news of the Yonhap Agency, in South Korea, which went to the polls today, Yoon Suk-yeol was elected president with 48.59 percent of the votes.
The ruling Democratic Party’s candidate, Lee Jae-Myung, conceded defeat and congratulated Yoon in a statement read at the party headquarters.
Lee said in a statement, “I tried my best, but I didn’t meet your expectations. All responsibility is mine. Congrats to Yoon Suk-yeol.” made statements.
Yoon thanked his supporters before moving from his home in the south of the capital Seoul to the party’s headquarters.
