The 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum (SLMMF) is scheduled to be held chaired by Alhaj N. M. Ameen at Al-Hidaya Maha Vidyalaya, Sri Sangaraja Mawatha, Colombo 12 on March 12 beginning from 9.00a.m till 4.00p.m.
Minister of Mass Media Dullas Alahapperuma will grace the event as the Chief Guest while Indian Lok Sabha Member Nawas Ghani gracing the event as the guest of honour. Dr. M. C. Rasmin will deliver especial oration under the title “Mass Media and the future of Muslim community”.
The research report on “A Critical Analysis of Labour Conditions faced by journalists in Sri Lanka carried out by the SLMMF in collaboration with the Federation of Media Employees Trade Union (FMETU), Free Media Movement (FMM), Sri Lanka Working Journalist Association (SLWJA), Sri Lanka Tamil Journalist Association (SLTJA), SAFMA Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Young Journalist Association (SLYJA) will also be launched during the AGM. The first copies of report will be handed over to the Minister Alahapperuma as well as the heads of these media entities.
The 5th volume of Media Directory of SLMMF will also be launched during the AGM. The COVID-19 prevention guidelines recommended by the health sector officials will be strictly followed during the event. The members and other invitees who are to take part in the AGM have been asked to cooperate with the organizers.
