The solar power agreement was signed yesterday between India’s largest energy company NTPC Limited and the Ceylon Electricity Board.
The Indian High Commissioner, who attended the Joint Venture and Partnership Agreement, said he was pleased to participate in the joint development of the solar power plant in Sampur.
The function was attended by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Power Minister Pavithra Vanniyarachchi.
