Solidarity demonstrations were held in various cities of Germany with Ukraine, against which Russia declared war.
Thousands of people gathered in Alexanderplatz square for the demonstration organized by an initiative formed by many associations and institutions in the capital Berlin with the slogan “Stop the war. Peace and solidarity for Ukraine”.
The demonstrators, who marched to the Victory Monument via Leipziger and Ebert streets, carried banners and banners with the words “Putin get your hand off Ukraine”, “No war”, “Peace” and “Stop the war”, as well as Ukrainian flags.
Many families with children demanded that Ukraine’s airspace be closed, that energy purchases from Russia be stopped, and Ukraine’s admission to the European Union (EU) in the demonstration.
Berlin police announced that about 11,000 people attended the demonstration. Hundreds of thousands of people attended the anti-war demonstration held in Berlin on February 27.
Similar demonstrations were held in different cities of the country. It was reported that 35 thousand people in Stuttgart, 12 thousand people in Frankfurt, and 10 thousand people in Hamburg participated in these demonstrations.
