Approximately 150 thousand people performed Friday prayers in Masjid al-Aqsa

On the third Friday of Ramadan, while approximately 150 thousand people were performing the Friday prayer at Masjid al-Aqsa in occupied East Jerusalem, the Israeli police fired tear gas canisters at the congregation in the courtyard of al-Aqsa after the prayer.

Despite the tension and Israeli restrictions, thousands of Palestinians from different parts of the occupied West Bank flocked to the Masjid al-Aqsa in occupied East Jerusalem.

Thousands of Palestinians, who came to Masjid al-Aqsa to perform the third Friday prayer of the month of Ramadan, formed a stampede at Israeli military points.

In a written statement made by the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, it was stated that approximately 150 thousand people performed the Friday prayer in Aqsa.

Before the prayer, a Palestinian climbed over the Kubbetu’s Sahara Mosque in the Masjid al-Aqsa Complex and hung the Palestinian flag.

Israeli police fired tear gas from a drone

Israeli police fired tear gas with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on thousands of people of all ages staying in the courtyard of Masjid al-Aqsa after the Friday prayer.

In the statement made by the Palestinian Red Crescent, it was stated that dozens of people affected by the tear gas were intervened.

The Israeli police intervened with the Palestinians in Masjid al-Aqsa after the morning prayer, and only Palestinian women and old men were allowed to enter Aqsa after the events.

The Israeli police, who lifted this restriction, allowed Palestinian young men who came to perform the Friday prayer to enter the Masjid al-Aqsa.

31 Palestinians were injured in an Israeli police raid

The Israeli police raided the Masjid al-Aqsa after thousands of people prayed the morning prayer, and intervened with the Palestinians with sound bombs and rubber-coated bullets.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 31 Palestinians were injured in the incidents, and 14 of them were treated at the hospital.

The fire, which broke out as a result of the fire in one of the trees in the courtyard of the Masjid al-Aqsa during the events, was extinguished by the teams of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf.
