Uva Governor and former mayor of Colombo AJM Muzammil and Feroza Muzammil’s elder daughter Mrs. Shazna who is residing in London elected to a Local government member of Municipal Council London. She contested from the Conservative party and got 1167 votes and was elected.
When Mr. Muzammil was Mayor of Colombo she worked as a private secretary to the Mayor. Last time also she contested but she lost by a few hundred votes.
Shazna, who has completed her MBA and MSc degrees from the Open University in the UK, has been volunteering at Open University Social Service organizations since her membership in various organizations to help adults, through the Keinash Youth Organization, parents in juvenile prisons doing community service such as child care.
She is also a volunteer with the Covid – 19 Infectious Diseases Health Association in London.
She is also a member of the American Business Association. It is noteworthy that he visited Sri Lanka during the parliamentary elections and campaigned for the Colombo Municipal Council elections.
