President Gotabaya Rajapaksha has told the people to remain calm regardless of any political party.
He has twittered on his account regarding this matter.
In it, the president called on the people to refrain from violence and retaliation against civilians.
He further added that all efforts would be made to restore political stability under the Constitution and through conciliation to resolve the economic crisis.
