UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister at 6.30 pm today (12), UNP sources said.
The post of Prime Minister has been vacant over the last two days after the resignation of Mahinda Rajapaksha, and a political deadlock between other key political parties.
Wickramasinghe who held closed door discussions with President Gotabaya Rajapaksha last evening, will take oaths as the new Prime Minister following the resignation of Mahinda Rajapaksha on Monday.
