Iranian Crisis Management Organization President Mohammad Hasan Nami said that the number of people who lost their lives in the 10-story building that collapsed in Khuzestan province rose to 11.
According to Mehr News Agency, Nami shared the latest information about the collapsed 10-story building in Abadan, Khuzestan.
“The number of people who lost their lives in the event that took place as a result of the collapse of the building in Abadan rose to 11 and the number of injured to 32,” Nami said. said.
Pointing out that the nearby buildings were evacuated against the danger of collapse, the Iranian official stated that they were trying to reach the basement with tunnels opened around the collapsed building.
Search and rescue efforts in the wreckage continue.
10 people were detained
Sadik Caferi Çegeni, the Chief Prosecutor of Khuzestan, said in a statement that the number of those detained in connection with the demolition of the building increased to 10.
The 10-story Abadan Metropol Business Center, which was under construction in the Tehlenji Emiri region, collapsed at noon yesterday in the city of Abadan in the province of Khuzestan.
Iran Emergency Aid Agency Spokesperson Mücteba Halidi stated that at least 4 people died and 25 people were injured in the collapsed building.
Iranian Red Crescent Rescue Head Mehdi Velipur also stated that they estimated 80 people were under the rubble.
It was reported that the owner of the building and the contractor were taken into custody after the incident.
