Many areas in the island are electricity got cut off from 5.10 am today(09).
CEB Engineers had announced a strike from midnight today.
However, there are reports that the Engineers Union has decided to call of their strike after a late night discussion with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The power cut has also affected some areas in Colombo, Gampaha and Kandy districts.
“In next few hours power will be fully restored, strike temporarily called off as President promised for a meeting today” CEB union representative Ranjan Jayalal said.
