Retired Major General Omar Farooq Burki of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka sponsored Provincial Rugby for the very first time in the history of Sri Lanka Rugby.

An agreement has been signed between Pakistan and Sri Lankan Rugby.

At the request of the Sri Lanka Rugby Union, an agreement was signed between the Ambassador of Pakistan and the President of the Sri Lanka Rugby Union at the Ramada Hotel, Colombo on Monday to attract and develop players from all provincial Rugby associations at the provincial level under the auspices of the Embassy of Pakistan.

Retired Major General Omar Farooq Burki, Ambassador of Pakistan, and Rizly Ilyas, President of the Sri Lanka Rugby Union, signed the agreement at the event.

This is another step towards promoting friendship among Pakistan – Sri Lanka youth.
