A girl has been died after being hit by a train in the Wellawatte area last evening (July 28).
The Police said that two young girls had been hit by the train close to the Police Lifeguard Unit in the area.
The two women have been identified as siblings, while the deceased is a 20-year-old resident of Udupussellawa.
They had been hit by a train that was plying from Colombo, Fort to Aluthgama.
They had been admitted to the Kalubowila South Teaching Hospital, after which one girl succumbed to her injuries.
