Senior Journalist Dinith Chinthaka Karanarathna yesterday (September 08) assumed duties as the Director General of the Government Information Department.
Dinith Chinthaka Karunaratne, who started his professional career as a journalist, is a journalist with more than three decades of experience in the media industry, holding many responsible positions including the position of news co-editor.
He has also studied communication at Santa Monica College in California, USA.
He previously served as a member of a prominent local newspaper’s editorial board, while he has also worked as a media advisor to the President.
On this occasion, the Media Ministry Secretary Anusha Palpita, former Director General Mohan Samaranayaka, newspaper editors and family members participated.
