It was reported that thousands of villagers in the region were evacuated due to Typhoon Noru, which continues to gain strength as it approaches the Quezon region in the northeast of the Philippines.

Authorities announced that Typhoon Noru suddenly gained strength as it approached the northeast of the Philippines, and changed direction, posing a risk to the capital Manila and villages in the high regions.

Typhoon Noru hit the sea approximately 115 kilometers east of Infanta town in the Quezon region, reaching speeds from 195 kilometers to 240 kilometers in the afternoon.

Weather forecast experts expect the typhoon to reach shore late Sunday.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from places in the Quezon region that are expected to remain on the typhoon’s transit route, and from coastal villages that may be affected by landslides and flooding.
