At least 91 people died and many are injured after a cable bridge collapsed into a river in the western Indian state of Gujarat on Sunday(October 30) evening, local media reported.
More than 177 people have been rescued so far, officials said.
The 230m (754ft) bridge on the Machchu river was built during British rule in the 19th Century.
Officials told local media over a hundred people were plunged into the Machchu river when the bridge in the state’s Morbi district collapsed. It was not immediately clear how many people were on the bridge.
The death toll is expected to rise further.(NewsNow)
