A discussion is to be held between the railway authorities and the Public Service Commission.
In this discussion which will be held today (10) in the morning, attention will be focused on the reinstatement of retired railway employees on contract basis.
Also, based on the need of the service, the approval of the Public Service Commission will be obtained for re-establishing them on contract basis, Railway General Manager W.A.D.S. Mr. Gunasinghe said.
On the 31st of last month, about 450 people retired from the railway service and the railway department has decided to re-hire about 400 employees under contract basis for essential services.
