04 railway employees have started a professional action by climbing into a water tank at the Ratmalana railway yard.
Protesting the hiring of 3,000 multi-task development support workers on permanent basis to fill their vacancies without making 160 non-permanent employees of the Railway Department.
It is reported that these employees have been working for almost 10 years under the casual, temporary, substitute, contract basis of the Railway Department.
