The Secretary General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Mr. Stephen Twig, arrived in the island yesterday (10) night for an official visit.
Mr. Angajan Ramanathan, Deputy Committee Chairman of the Parliament and Mr. Tikiri Jayathilaka, Assistant General Secretary welcomed the General Secretary and the group.
Mr. Twigg’s visit to Sri Lanka was accompanied by Miss Emily Davies, Head of Strategy and Operations of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
During the visit of the General Secretary of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Mr. Stephen Twigg, the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker, the Leader of the House, the Leader of the Opposition, the Foreign Minister and other Ministers, Members of Parliament and representatives of civil organizations are scheduled to meet and discuss.
