Election Commissioner General Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake said that the officials of the Treasury agreed to provide the necessary money for the local government elections when needed.
Yesterday (11th), the treasury officials met the election officials at the election office and held a special discussion about this.
Long discussions have been held regarding the holding of the local government elections and the amount of money spent for the same, and the officials have agreed to the Election Commission to release those amounts from the treasury in cases where money is needed.
