The Board of Directors of the CEB have decided to continue the electricity demand managemnt programme and CEB has informed this to PUCSL yesterday (27).

Accordingly, PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake urged all electricity consumers to notify the Commission, in writing, if any power cuts are being imposed.

Further, the public were also notified to inform the PUCSL of complaints in this regard via their hotline – 077 568 7387 (or WhatsApp), email – consumers@pucsl.gov.lk and fax – 011 2 392 641.

It was earlier agreed at a meeting summoned by the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka that power cuts will not take place during the Advanced Level examinations. However, the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana alleged that Power and Energy Ministry officials were threatened by HRCSL members.
