Jobs in Turkey: Clarification from SL Embassy

One suspect from a group that had duped many people by providing misleading information pertaining to a job interview in Colombo organized by an employment agency has been arrested, Minister of Foreign Employment and Labour Manusha Nanayakkara said on Wednesday.

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Ankara has clarified that the Government of Türkiye has not provided any quota to the Government of Sri Lanka for the recruitment of employees from Sri Lanka.

Issuing a statement, the Embassy stated that recruitment for employment opportunities in Türkiye is arranged by private recruiting agencies registered with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

The Embassy further said along with the SLBFE registered agencies, the recruitment for employment opportunities is arranged in collaboration with the private Turkish recruiting companies which are registered in regional chambers of commerce Türkiye.

The Embassy added that prior to making any recruitment, the Turkish recruitment companies are once again registered at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara.
