Doctor arrested with narcotic capsules to be sold to schoolchildren

Sri Lanka Police said that a doctor at the Provincial General Hospital in Badulla was caught with 145 narcotic capsules intended to be sold to children.

The police special task team (STF) made the arrest last night, February 14.

After getting a tip that the doctor in issue had been selling medications to schoolchildren at his private medical clinic in Mailagasthenna, Badulla, for a long time, investigators conducted a raid.

Along with the stock of narcotic capsules, the suspect’s car was also seized by the STF personnel.

The doctor in question will be produced before the Badulla Magistrate’s Court today
