D.E.W Gunasekera says that the government is preparing to introduce a new bill to reform the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Speaking to media yesterday, February 21, Gunasekera stated that it is mandatory to carry out reforms to receive the bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Furthermore, he said that the increase in fuel prices by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the increase of electricity tariffs by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) are all implemented under pleges made to the IMF.
