In Sri Lanka, gold prices have dropped significantly.
This morning, March 10, in Colombo-Fort, local gold merchants said that a 24-karat gold coin cost Rs. 145,000 and a 22-karat gold coin cost Rs. 134,000.
They stated that earlier this month, a 24-carat gold coin cost Rs. 184,000, and a 22-carat gold coin cost Rs. 170,000.
In January and February of this year (2023), the highest rate for gold was recorded.
The highest price for a 24-karat gold coin reported so far this year was Rs. 193,000, while Rs. 178,500 was paid for a 22-karat gold coin.
