According to Ajit Doval, India’s NSA, terrorism and the funding of it are two of the biggest threats to world peace and security.
Speaking to the NSAs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in New Delhi, he added that interconnection remains an important goal for India. NSA Doval advocated for the International North-South Transport Corridor’s inclusion of the Chabahar Port in his opening comments. (INSTC).
“One of the most severe threats to international peace and security is terrorism, in all of its manifestations and forms, as well as the financing of terrorism. No act of terrorism should ever be justified, according to NSA Doval.
He referred to acts of terrorism as “unjustifiable” and urged all SCO members to impose sanctions against international terrorist organizations and carry out their duties as outlined in pertinent anti-terrorism cooperation protocols, such as the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
NSA Doval emphasized the value of communication as well. India, according to him, was prepared to work with others to engage in and improve connectivity in the area. At the same time, he emphasized how crucial it was to guarantee that such initiatives “respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries” and are “consultative, transparent, and participatory.”
He emphasized that India’s strategy was in line with the SCO Charter, which calls for comprehensive and balanced economic development in order to integrate into the world economy and improve transit infrastructure.
The International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) and the addition of the Chabahar Port within its framework are two things that India is dedicated to doing, he continued.
China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are all part of the SCO, a regional alliance. Several other nations participate in the SCO as observers or discussion participants as well.
India, which joined the SCO in 2017, currently retains the presidency. Later this year, the yearly SCO Summit will take place in Goa, India. The meeting of the foreign ministers and the defense ministers would come before this.
