Remand until April 6, 2023 for a person who used a cryptocurrency scam to steal Rs. 1375 million.
The culprit was detained for using BINANCE social media to commit the financial fraud, according to Daily News.
He was detained by the Criminal Investigations Department yesterday, and Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis directed that he be kept in custody. (CID).
He was detained as a result of a complaint made by a woman who the suspect had defrauded and joined in an effort to expand her bitcoin holdings.
Additional inquiries into the event are being made by the CID.
