According to Ajith Gunasekara, president of the All Ceylon Poultry Businesses Association, the price rise of chicken and eggs during the upcoming holiday season cannot be avoided.
He said that due to the challenges in meeting demand and supply, the price of poultry could rise to a range of Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,400 per kilogram.
At a news conference in Colombo, Mr. Gunasekara stated that the absence of a robust trading network makes it impossible to control price fluctuations.
