A female-run radio station in Afghanistan’s northeast has been targeted for closure by the Taliban. The playing of sound during the holy month of Ramadan is to blame for this.
Sadai Banowan (Women’s Voice of Dari) is the name of this radio program. According to reports, this is the only radio station in Afghanistan operated by women.
There are 8 employees working for it, and it was founded 10 years ago. Moezuddin Ahmadi, the province of Badakhshan’s director of information and culture, had made a remark in response to this. He claimed that by playing music and songs during Ramadan, the radio station had frequently broken the “laws and regulations of the Islamic Emirate.”
