According to Kanchana Wijesekera, minister of power and energy, a decision has been made to suspend the licenses of 40 gas outlets whose adherence to the National Fuel Pass QR quotas has been continuous. (06).
The decision, according to Minister Wijesekera, was made this morning during a progress review conference with the management and officers of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL).
He continued by saying that it was also agreed to mandate a minimum stock tank capacity of 50% for all fuel stations.
The minister also said that all fuel tankers owned by CPC would have GPS tracking devices installed by April 15 and that all private tankers would follow suit after that.
