The world’s first UCAV carrier and the largest warship ever built by Turkey were both presented to the navy of that nation on Monday.
Turkish naval capabilities would be strengthened by the decision, which also makes Turkey one of the few countries in the world to have an aircraft carrier that was made domestically.
The TCG Anadolu ship, which was constructed at the shipyard Sedef in Istanbul, is capable of transporting soldiers, land vehicles, light warships, drones, and helicopters.
The largest and heaviest helicopters and drones can land and take off on TCG Anadolu, making it the first warship of its kind in the world, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was speaking at the delivery ceremony on Monday in Istanbul.
According to Erdogan, “The TCG Anadolu…is the first warship in its field in the world where UAVs can land and take off.”
The ship can be used for landing and takeoff by Turkish UCAVs Bayraktar TB3 and Kizilelma drones as well as light attack aircraft Hurjet, according to Erdogan.
