According to officials, a massive landslide in northwest Pakistan has buried almost two dozen vehicles, injured several persons, and killed at least three people.

The landslide happened early on Tuesday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province close to Torkham, a significant border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to local police officer Saleem Kalachi, three persons have already passed away in the event.

It will take some time to finish the evacuation because this landslide is large. About 20 to 25 automobiles were buried by the avalanche, he continued.

According to Bilal Faizi, spokesman for the province’s Rescue 1122 agency, the landslide occurred before daybreak following reports of rain and thunderstorms in the area.
