People over 40 who cannot obtain National ID cards because they lack birth documents will soon be allowed to do so according to a scheme that has been set up.
Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, the Commissioner General of Registration of Persons, mentioned it.
As a result, Sri Lankan residents over 40 with a permanent address in a village officer’s division who are registered voters and who have not yet applied for a national identity card because they lack a birth certificate are eligible to do so.
The Development Officers of the Department of Registration of Persons located inside the Divisional Secretariat Offices can provide more information on this.
