Netflix unveiled the trailer for a brand-new documentary about the princess “Cleopatra” on April 12.
In the upcoming Netflix documentary about Queen Cleopatra, the character of “Cleopatra” was played by a black actress.
This was slammed heavily online.
As a result, Mahmoud al-Semary, an Egyptian attorney, sued Netflix for depicting Cleopatra as a black person.
Lawyer Mahmoud al-Semary has noted that emphasizing Cleopatra as a black lady is a distortion of history and that changing the skin tone of such historical people is a “crime.”
Additionally, a petition to outlaw Cleopatra and Netflix in Egypt has been posted online.
