The Commissioner General of the IRD revealed that during the first quarter of 2023, the Department of Inland income (IRD) of Sri Lanka collected a total of about Rs. 316 billion in tax income.
The Commissioner General reports that during the months of January, February, and March of 2023, a total of Rs. 316,619 billion was collected.
In a statement, the IRD Commissioner General noted that this represented a 216% increase over the Rs. 146,565 reported for the same period in 2022.
