According to state media, an Israeli airstrike on a location close to the Syrian city of Homs resulted in three injuries as well as flames and explosions. A monitoring organization claimed that a munitions stockpile was targeted.
Three people were injured in the strike in the early hours of Saturday, according to Syria’s state news agency SANA, which cited military authorities. A civilian gasoline station also caught fire. Additionally, a number of trucks and fuel tankers caught fire.
The Israeli enemy launched an airstrike with numerous missiles against various points near the city of Homs at about 00:50 [21:50 GMT] from the direction of north Lebanon, according to SANA.
Israeli missiles were reportedly shot down by Syrian air defenses over Homs, according to SANA.
According to the pro-government Sham FM radio, the attacks caused fires to start south of Homs City and “successive explosions” to be heard there.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an Israeli missile attack on a military airfield in the Homs countryside resulted in the destruction of a Hezbollah munitions storage.
The observatory noted that it was Israel’s second attack on the location in a month.
Israeli officials did not immediately issue a comment on the incident. Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian soil throughout the course of the country’s more than ten-year civil conflict, but it makes no mention of these actions.
Israel asserts that when inside Syrian soil, it is pursuing hostile troops supported by Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah militants.
On April 2, according to state media, Israeli airstrikes targeted a number of locations in Homs, injuring five troops. On April 9, Israel’s military said that its forces attacked targets in Syria after six rockets were fired from southern Syria into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
