The inaugural ceremony of the “We Can” national project for peace by the panel of Council Justices of the Peace of Sri Lannka was held today (29) at the Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall.
Justices of the Peace representing all the 25 districts participated in this ceremony which was presided over by Dr. AMM Fahath, the Chairperson of the said panel.
Executive Director of the National Council for Peace Mr. Jehan Perera, Deputy Director of Colombo University, Lecturer Mr. Hakeem and National Director of the National Council for Peace Dr. Ilango Gandhi joined the event as speakers.
The focus was on peace and human rights and its chairman Dr. AMM. Fahath explained about the National Peace Project.
Furthermore, the chairman stated that hundreds of programs for peace across the country have been implemented by the district groups at the regional level with the participation of the justices of the peace.
