To entice foreign investment in the near future, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has suggested introducing a special package.
Joining the press conference for the Cabinet this morning (May 3), Minister Bandula Gunawardene, the spokesperson for the Cabinet, said that as a result, a “package of privileges” consisting of state funds and provisions for foreign investment will soon be introduced.
Minister Gunawardene emphasized that a major problem continues to be the lack of adequate incentives to draw in foreign investment.
He said that despite the country’s abundance of natural resources, everyone should take note of the fact that sufficient efforts are being made to draw in international investment.
