Today (May 03), Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabry had a friendly conversation.
The two parties talked about advancing their economic cooperation and bilateral ties to the mutual advantage of Sri Lanka and India during their meeting.
On behalf of the Sri Lankan government and people, Sabry thanked Sitharaman and the Indian government for all the help and support given to the island nation during a very trying and difficult time, and for actively assisting in its recovery.
The gathering was held in South Korea in conjunction with the 56th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The event will take place in Seoul from May 2–5, 2023.
Around 3,000–4,000 people, including Ministers of Finance, Governors of Central Banks, Senior Officials of the Major Global Banks, Companies, and Media, attend the Annual Meeting, which is a high-level event.
On May 4, 2023, at the Governor’s Business Session, Sabry will make a remark in addition to making additional comments.
The foreign minister is traveling with Ajith Abeysekera, the director general of the Department of External Resources.
