The National Dengue Control Unit revealed that there were 3% more dengue-infected people this week than there were last week.
Since the start of the year, the Unit has received reports of close to 32,000 dengue cases.
Around 59 MOH Divisions nationwide have also been designated as dengue high-risk regions by the National Dengue Control Unit.
The districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Galle, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, Kalmunai, Puttalam, Ratnapura, and Kegalle have reported an upsurge in dengue cases.
The National Dengue Control Unit has issued a warning that the widespread wet weather conditions encountered in different regions of the nation may boost the spread of dengue.
