On May 15, Shubman Gill scored his first century in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leaving Virat Kohli dumbfounded. Gill was at the peak of his game when representing the Gujarat Titans against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Gill contributed 101 runs off 58 balls, 13 fours, and one six to the Titans’ amazing 188 for nine total. After Wriddhiman Saha was down for a duck, Gill and Sai Sudharsan collaborated for 147 runs for the second wicket off 13.4 overs to put GT back in the game.
Gill performed so well that a player of Kohli’s caliber praised him. Shubman, according to Kohli, can provide a road map for the next generation of cricketers with his style of play.
There is promise and then there is Gill, Kohli said in his Instagram story. Continue to guide the upcoming generation. God’s blessings are upon you.
