The Ministry of Education has decided to add two disciplines to the curriculum starting in 2024: artificial intelligence and information technology.
As a result, it has been determined that the aforementioned courses would be taught in schools all around the island from Grades 06 to 13.
Susil Premajayantha, the minister of education, spoke on the subject and said that the decision was made in an effort to further increase the nation’s educational standard in line with worldwide norms.
The Minister added that different steps have also been taken to promote the use of English within the student community and that a pilot program in this respect will be conducted in June within 20 chosen schools.
