Three provinces have new governors, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
As a result, the following governors were sworn in this morning (May 17) in the Presidential Secretariat in front of President Ranil Wickremesinghe:
Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, P.S.M. Charles, Senthil Thondaman, and others from the provinces of the north and west and east respectively
Following the Head of State’s removal of the Eastern, Northern, and Northwestern provinces’ governors on Monday, May 15, new nominations were announced.
