The legal draftsman’s bill to alter the Ayurveda Act has received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers.
As a result, upon its publication in the government gazette, the pertinent Bill to alter the Ayurveda Act would be presented to Parliament.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena, who joined the cabinet news conference this morning (May 23), disclosed this.
The Attorney General has since approved the pertinent Bill that the legal draftsman had written.
The proposal to update the Ayurveda Act No. 31 of 1961 to meet contemporary needs and advance sustainable development goals received Cabinet approval on October 31, 2022.
