Terrifying moment as plane door opens midair (Video)

An Asiana Airlines jet’s door burst open as it touched down in Daegu, South Korea, on Friday afternoon, sending wind tearing through the cabin as panicked passengers clutched their armrests, according to video of the incident.

The plane was around 700 feet (213 meters) above the ground and two to three minutes away from landing in the city 150 miles (240 kilometers) south of Seoul, according to an airline official, when a man in his 30s who was seated in the emergency seat appeared to have opened the door.

However, business representatives told CNN that the aircraft had safely landed. A man has been apprehended, according to the local police.

According to Asiana Airlines, there were 200 individuals in total on board, including 194 passengers.

Twelve persons experienced minor injuries from hyperventilation, and nine of them were transported to Daegu hospitals, according to the Daegu Fire Department.

The Airbus 321 was recognized as the plane on the Flightradar 24 tracking system.

Daegu.
