Four regions of Sri Lanka are under a severe heat advisory from the Department of Meteorology today.
As a result, it is anticipated that some locations in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Eastern provinces may see an increase in the heat index, or the temperature that is felt by the human body, up to a “Caution” level.
Additionally, some locations in the Monaragala and Hambanthota districts are predicted to experience a spike in the heat index up to a “Caution” level.
The Met Department stated that weariness was a possibility with extended exposure and exercise, and that persistent activity might result in heat cramps.
