General Shavendra Silva, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has sent former minister and lawmaker Wimal Weerawansa a Letter of Demand (LOD) about statements he made at the publication of his new book.
The LOD produced by General Silva’s attorneys accuses MP Weerawansa of making untrue and unsupported claims that the former was involved in a plot to topple the government.
‘Nine: The Hidden Story’ book launch address at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute on April 25, 2023 is where MP Weerawansa is said to have made the accusations, as well as in the book itself.
