India-Sri Lanka grid connection to be implemented by 2030
Power & Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera stated that the administration has agreed to expedite the grid connection between India and Sri Lanka.
The administration has prioritized putting the India-Sri Lanka grid connection into place by 2030 because regional energy integration has been discussed for more than 20 years, the lawmaker said on Twitter.
He said that the World Bank has been helping the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to comprehend the project’s technical requirements and economic concepts.
On Tuesday, Cecile Fruman, the director of regional integration for the World Bank, and Chiyo Kanda, the country manager, addressed the plans for energy integration and the growth of renewable energy sources.
