Police recently used water cannons and tear gas to disperse demonstrating university students at Sri Jayawardenapura University at Wijerama Junction in Nugegoda.
The Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) organized the protest march in support of a number of demands, including the lifting of the suspensions of various university student activists.
