On June 7, Sri Lanka and the Maldives signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) regarding cultural exchange, health cooperation, and the opening of a Maldives Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka.
The agreement on cultural cooperation will give both nations the chance to foster and strengthen existing cultural ties between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Cooperation in the areas of heritage conservation, preservation, and archaeology will also be encouraged.
The MoU on cultural collaboration was signed by the Minister of State for Arts, Culture & Heritage of the Maldives, Mohamed Thoriq, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka, Somarathne Vidanapathirana.
